Accidentally hurt your skin,
Just wrap it in a band-aid, okay?
The truth is not so simple as a post!
moreover
Do you really know how to use a Band-aid? How to produce bandage?
It's the only wound you can put a band-aid on.
Band-aids are mainly composed of adhesive tape and absorbent pad, which can absorb the liquid oozing from the wound and play the role of drying the wound. In addition to some band-Aids containing drugs, most of them do not have anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects.
Band-aids have poor air permeability and are only suitable for small and shallow wounds with little bleeding, neat and clean wounds that do not require stitches.
There's nothing a Band-aid can do about these wounds
1. Large or deep wounds
Wounds larger than the width of the band-aid absorbent pad and deeper than 0.5 cm are not suitable for band-Aids, and too deep wounds are prone to anaerobic bacterial infections, such as tetanus.
2. Wounds that have become infected or suppurating
If the wound is red or oozing fluid, or even pus, indicating that it has been infected, do not use a band-aid, need to be treated by a professional surgeon and then bandaged.
3. Animal bites
No Bandaids for animal bites!! After being bitten, rinse with soapy water for 15 minutes continuously to reduce the risk of rabies infection. If you really can't find soapy water, rinse with water also has a certain effect. After treatment, go to the hospital to get vaccinated!
4. Burns, scalds, boils
Burns, scalds, boils (large, red bumps, some will flow pus) of the wound, need to keep air and dry, band-Aids can help the growth of bacteria and aggravate the infection.
5. Eczema
Many eczema patients put band-aids on their skin in order to avoid scratching. However, eczema may ooze fluid, and wearing a band-aid with poor permeability may aggravate the condition.
What should I do before applying a Band-aid?
A little skin injury, many people will directly put a band-aid on the wound, this is not right! Because the injured area is likely to have been contaminated or have foreign objects, it must be treated as follows:
1. Rinse the wound with normal saline or clean water;
2, gently remove dirt or foreign bodies on the surface of the wound;
3, with a cotton ball dipped in iodophor or 75% alcohol to wipe the wound, wipe the range of the wound as the center of the circle, to the outer edge of the wound 3~ 5cm;
4. Bandage the wound with a band-aid after the wound is slightly dry.
Note: Do not apply red medicine, purple medicine to the wound; After removing the surface of the band-aid, do not touch the absorbent pad with your fingers to avoid contaminating the absorbent pad.
Proper posture for applying Band-Aids
1, first use scissors to cut a cut in half of the "small wings" tape around the band-aid, taking care not to cut the middle of the cotton pad. The cotton pad is aligned with the wound location, and the tape "upper left" and "lower right", "lower left" and "upper right" are cross-wrapped together to wrap securely.
2. If the wound is in the joint, the tape "upper left" and "upper right", "lower left" and "lower right" are cross-wrapped together, not only securely wrapped, but also the joint can move freely.
Note: Band-Aids should be changed at least every day; Summer is hot and humid, must not cover the wound for a long time, usually the wound scabbed to remove the band-aid; When using a band-aid, if it is wet or dirty, it should be replaced in time.
